Vortex 3 Voice Changing Module
After a much anticipated wait, the Vortex 3 voice changer is now available!!
Our Vortex 3 voice unit is a programmable sound effects and real-time
voice changing module that allows one to change their voice and play out
high-quality sound effects in a package that can be body worn.
Our
voice changer is capable of producing high-quality voice effects (CD 44.1kHz quality) that are
lacking in the mass-produced toys seen on the market today. This device
produces "movie-quality" effects to be used by voice-over enthusiasts,
movie makers, or costuming hobbyists.
This Vortex 3 voice changer also features several innovations not
found in any other voice amp in its class:
- 16-bit CD quality output and DSP technology.
- Push-to-talk mode, enables voice output and disables
external sounds so you can talk at will.
- Auto VOX mode automatically disables external sound fx while
talking.
- Microphone gain control.
- 6’ remote pushbutton cable to control all the boards features
with a single fingertip
- Compatible with all types of amplified speakers,
Aker, OnTour Ipod speakers, xtremegadget, etc.
- Uses any electret mic – board even supplies phantom mic power.
- Smallest voice unit we have made for body-worn applications: 2.75" x 2"
x 0.75"
- CD quality sound effects and music files are stored on microSD card, mixed in with voice effect and trigger with remote pushbutton cable.
The voice board will run off any DC power supply from 6V-18V. A 9V
battery is sufficient to use, but may not last long. Use alkaline
batteries or lithium batteries for added life. You can also use a 6AA
battery pack for extended costuming sessions.

Applications
We have many real-time voice transformations that you can choose
from. All you need to do is pick a voice effect with your package!
Below lists a couple example applications we have done in the past.

- Dark Lord voice effect
This voice effect transforms your voice in real time to sound like a
dark lord - adding helmeted reverb, echo, and shifting your voice down
in pitch so it replicates the effect heard
in the movies. Breathing sounds stored onboard can be mixed in with voice
output. Music tracks/sounds can also be triggered.
- Knights of Ren voice effect
This voice effect transforms your voice in real time to sound like an evil tri-bladed knight. The pitch of the output voice can be changed as well as compression ratios. Onboard music tracks can also be played on demand.
- Trooper/bounty hunter voice effect
This is 3 voice effects in one package! You get the movie accurate helmeted trooper voice effect, a bounty hunter helmeted voice effect, and a Boushh modulated voice effect! Automatic end clicks and static are mixed in for the trooper voice. And blaster sound effects/music tracks can be keyed on demand. Also featured is a random fx feature that will play back a random sound or voice snippet every so often.
- Voice of the Bat
This voice effect transforms your voice in real time to sound like a DOJ bat super hero! Pitch shifting with adding mechanization. The pitch of the output voice can also be lowered to match the user's expectations. Stored sounds/music tracks can be triggered on demand for playback also.
- Ironman voice effect
This voice effect transforms your voice in real time to sound like you are in an ironman robotic suit - adding mechanization and proprietary small-reflection echo. The pitch of the output voice can also be lowered to match the user's expectations. Onboard sound fx (like a Jarvis or servo effects) can be mixed in with voice
output.
- Protocol droid voice
This voice effect tranforms your voice in real time like a protocol droid, adding the correct phasing to accurately reproduce the gold/silver droid movie effect! Internal sound effects (servo sounds, etc) or music tracks can be keyed in while walking to complete your droid costuming effect!
